This workshop is only open to those who have registered with the Beacon Programme. The programme is aimed at Chairs and Vice Chairs of smaller charities in England with an annual income of under £1 million.

Please join the programme so you can make a booking for this event.

Governance means managing dynamics among your trustees and between your trustees and staff or volunteers. This workshop aims to provide chairs with practical guidance and tools to help you navigate this challenge and effectively work with your trustees.

It has been developed with the complexities of chairing a smaller organisation in mind (with an annual income of under £1 million); such as the executive role often being in a part-time or voluntary capacity and individuals often having both operational and governance roles. You will have the opportunity to share learning with Chairs of other smaller organisations.

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Understand what will help you get the best from your trustees

  • Have tools to work effectively with your CEO and or senior team

  • Have ideas for identifying, recruiting and effectively working with new trustees

  • Gain insights and top tips from other Chairs of smaller organisations
