As Chair, your role includes enabling your board to work well together and supporting your trustees to resolve any conflict. This might mean having difficult conversations with one or more of your trustees to confront problematic behaviours.
Join the Association of Chairs at the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket for this workshop which aims to provide you with practical guidance and tools to help you develop the board as a team and give you the confidence to deal with any conflict at an early stage. This workshop has been developed with the complexities of chairing a smaller organisation in mind (with an annual income of under £1 million); such as working with a smaller number of trustees and individuals often having both operational and governance roles. You will have the opportunity to share learning and sources of support with Chairs of other smaller organisations.
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
- Enable your board to work well together
- Manage conflict and support difficult conversations
- Gain insights and top tips from other Chairs of smaller organisations
Registration is from 11:15. Lunch will be provided
This workshop is being run in partnership with SHARE Museums East. Some places are reserved for Chairs and Vice Chairs of museums in the East of England, who will have opportunity to work together and share insights with Chairs and Vice Chairs from the broader charity sector. Please note that if you book for this event AoC will share your name, organisation and contact details with SHARE Museums East.
Attendance at Beacon Programme workshops could count towards your continuing professional development. Let the Association of Chairs know if you need evidence of attendance.
