Clore Leadership Research commissioned in 2016 identified Board Diversity as one of the top priority concerns for cultural organisations. Acknowledging the strong appetite for progress, it concluded that a mixture of mindset, commitment and strategies were essential to achieving robust and sustainable impact and change. “Attitudes, commitment and energy all need to focus on Board recruitment and induction, with a sustained approach to achieving diversity over the long term.”

Achieving and Retaining a Diverse Board draws on the experience and expertise of key sector professionals to create a bespoke and stimulating day of ideas and strategies to skilfully navigate and champion the diversity agenda.

Keynote Speakers include:

Sue Woodford-Hollick OBE, businesswoman and trustee

Tony Heaton OBE, Sculptor and Chair of Shape Arts

Matthew Xia, freelance theatre director and trustee

Sarah Weir OBE, CEO, Design Council

Joanna Moriarty, Director of Green Park recruitment

There is much evidence to show that a diverse Board makes for a better Board. The programme will include ‘surgeries’ with keynote speakers, opportunities for peer learning and shared examples of best practice, ensuring that attendees will be actively supported to develop targeted and strategic responses to this critical area of Board performance.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 6 December 2018.
