What information do we collect about you?

1. We collect personal information about you (your name, email address and sometimes your telephone number) when you:

This information is based on active consent from you, the data subject, when you freely supply this information.


2. We also collect www.culturalgovernancealliance.org analytics data from our website users (you, the data subject) to help us analyse how this website is performing in relation to the CGA’s mission, and to inform user-focused improvements to the site. This may include IP addresses and demographic data if made available by said users. This analytics data is gathered, stored and processed by third party processor Google Analytics. How do we store the information about you?

1. Personal data submitted via data collection forms is stored as follows:

  • Data submitted via the ‘Submit an event’ form is processed via Outlook and deleted once data is transferred to being stored in Craft CMS, the content management system for the this website.
  • Data submitted via the ‘Sign up for Individual Membership’ form is stored by third party processor Mailchimp. You can read Mailchimp’s Privacy Policy here.
  • Data submitted via the ‘Apply to become an Organisational Member’ form is processed via Outlook, Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite, managed by Clore Leadership, before being stored by third party processor Mailchimp. You can read Mailchimp’s Privacy Policy here.


2. Personal data submitted via Google Analytics is stored in Google Analytics.

All of these data processing and storage locations are password protected and can only be accessed by individuals employed or engaged by Clore Leadership to manage and administrate the CGA, and will be removed when requested by you.

How will we use the information about you?

We will only collect or use personal data for the purpose indicated at the time that the personal information was volunteered. The CGA will not use your personal information for new purposes without first asking for your consent.

If, when becoming a member of the CGA, you have opted in to also receiving mailings from Clore Leadership, they may email you with occasional updates about governance related activity and you will receive their quarterly newsletter.

Data processed via Google Analytics is used solely to inform and improve the functionality of the CGA website relative to the mission of the CGA and user needs identified through user testing and user feedback.

We will not share your personal information outside of the CGA or Clore Leadership and those it engages to carry out CGA related work without your consent.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you and to request removal of the data we hold on you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your information please email [email protected] or call us at +44 (0) 20 7420 9430.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
